The Challenge
Zasso is now offering municipal and landscaping companies a new disruptive and efficient way of combating weeds without herbicides. As a highly effective alternative to chemical agents, the tractor-based XPU allows the control of unwanted vegetation thanks to the tested Electroherb™ Technology.
The XPU is part of AGXTEND’s XPower™ family of electric weeding solutions. It is only available commercially in Europe for the moment, exclusively through CNH Industrial. Please click below for more information.
The Concept
The tractor based XPU with a 1.2 m working width is designed to be used specifically to control vegetation on sidewalks, roadsides, cemeteries, and large industrial areas. The XPU system consists of two components that are attached to the front and rear of tractors. The supply unit in the rear includes a generator, up to 12 high-voltage power modules with an output of 36 kW (including Power Boost option) and the electrical control unit in the switch cabinet. The applicator unit in the front (1,2 m) can be shifted 50cm to the side to adapt to the spatial constraints of urban areas. The flexible metal electrodes adapt well to any surface (e.g. asphalt, gravel, or paving stones), ensuring optimal contact to the vegetation and thus adequate energy turnover.
With our implemented safety features we achieve the highest safety standard and can therefore CE certify all our devices.
