Weed Free Service, Broekens en Group Verschueren introduceren innovatieve elektrische oplossing in Nederland

No one wants unsightly weeds in public spaces. Because brushing, burning, or hot water often fall short, the new electric technology now offers a sustainable alternative. Weed Free Service has been working for a year with the CityZAS weed machine from Group Verschueren in Lochristi (B), supplied by Broekens. Initial experiences have been positive.

Weed Free Service from Heerenveen was the first in the Netherlands to use the Zasso XPower XPA more than two years ago, a large electric unit with a rotating arm and a working width of 1.20 meters. This machine, coupled with a New Holland tractor, is successfully used against stubborn species such as Japanese knotweed. The positive experiences with this technology led to the purchase of the more compact CityZAS, which is particularly suitable for urban areas.
“You can see that there is a lot of demand from the market,” says Ruurd Caesar, sales manager at Broekens. “We give a lot of demonstrations with the CityZAS. Where hot water, steam, or brushing only tackle the top of the weeds, this machine tackles the problem at the root. Literally.”
