  • The company’s headquarters are in Switzerland and Sayyou is officially renamed Zasso after its Japanese founder Satoru Narita (Zasso means “Plants in the wrong place” – or weeds, in Japanese).
  • First internationalization of technology.

  • Opening of Zasso GmbH, located in Aachen, Germany.

2006

Electroherb certified organic for coffee

Sayyou partners with the Pro-Café Foundation to develop a certifiable, organic, technical proof of technology.  This successful partnership enables the integration of our electrical weed killing equipment on certified organic coffee plantations in Brasil.

1994

Zasso Orchard and Grove Weed Killer

Our first prototypes are produced in 1994.  These field tests pave the way for future research and development work streams focused on reliability, effectiveness and efficiency of our solution.

1992

First Electroherb Tractor

Zasso Brasil is born as Sayyou in 1992. Founded by Satoru Narita, the company begins developing industrial, marketable electrical weeding equipment with the help of UNESP (São Paulo State University), and the sponsorship of the CESP (Companhia Energetica de Sao Paulo).
